The January gemstone is the Garnet Garnet means truth, compassion, and love. It can also uplift one's spirit and bring them success in business. These stones have been worn since about 3000 B.C. that proof has been found of that is.

February's gemstone is the Amethyst which is crystalline quartz. It comes in various shades of lilac, mauve, or purple. The word amethyst actually means not intoxicated derived from two ancient Greek words ? or a meaning not and ยต???st?? or methustos meaning intoxicated. Wearing this stone is said to keep one sober.

March gemstone is Bloodstone or aquamarine . Aquamarine is a stone that has a blue-green color and come from parts of South America. According to gemstone meanings it brings on serenity and peace of mind; it is often used in meditating.

The bloodstone gets its name from the red spots on the green background. This stone has been used to stop some forms of bleeding. The Greeks call it heliotrope and believe it brings on change.

June has the lovely Pearl for its gemstone or the alexandrite. The pearl is unique to other gemstones in the way it is made. The oyster actually makes the pearl from grit. It means innocence and purity and it is often worn as part of a bridal dress or jewelry.

Alexandrite stones are extremely rare. This stone is said to encourage love and pleasure. Alexandrite also is considered to bring good luck.

July's gemstone is the Ruby, which is said to be full of love. The ruby can even be meditated on to improve love on one's self. This stone has been used in improving circulation too.

The gemstone for August is the Peridot This stone dates back for at least four thousand years. According to gemstone meaning it has even been mentioned in the Bible and is worn sometimes with amethyst to stand for morality and purity. The ancient cultures thought the stone to be Mother Nature's gift to them.

September's gemstone is the Blue Sapphire or the Pink Sapphire . The word sapphire has the meaning blue in the Greek language. Sapphires mean devotion to God and symbolize heaven. They also have healing powers.

Opal is the October gemstone. Opals come in various colors. They are known to be great healing stones. Opals also mean hope.

November's gemstone is Topaz Topaz comes is different colors and attracts love to all that wears it. The stone also has protective qualities guarding its wearer from disease and even death.

Turquoise is December's gemstone and has been mined for thousands of years. This stone is among the oldest of the gems. Turquoise stand for friendship and helps peace come into a house. This stone holds wisdom and truth in it.

Zircon can also be used for the gemstone for December. Zircon comes in more than one color. This gem signifies harmony, energy, strength, and self confidence.
